A Holiday Message

Tracy, mom-in-law, Baumer and I left early yesterday morning for White-ville aka Lumby, BC, and thus, the lack of game recap for the Canucks' loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night. The game itself was not different from most other Canucks games this season - they gave up an early lead, tried valiantly to come back, and then fell short in the end. In Canucksland, some fans cried for Luongo to steal the game; personally - and I've said this many other times this season - they need to make the most of their scoring opportunities and put some more pucks in the net.

Regardless, Tony Gallagher (Vancouver Province) has a very nice piece this morning reminding us Canucks fans that hockey, in fact, is just a game. We may live and breathe it, but especially this holiday season, it's important to keep the wins and the losses in perspective. It's the time of year to spend with loved ones (even in more than six inches of snow like here) and think of those who are less-fortunate, and thanks, Tony, for reminding us of that.

With that, I just want to wish everyone a safe and merry Christmas and hope that Santa is good to you.
