The Battle of Alberta

Hands up if you thought the team from northern Alberta would have the early edge over the one from southern Alberta. The Edmonton Oilers won again tonight, improving their record to 3-0. On the other hand, the Calgary Flames lost tonight to the Avs by a score of 7-3; their record falls to 1-4. The Flames have now let in 6 goals or more in 3 of their first 4 games, and their opponents have capitalized on 11/25 powerplay opportunities - a success rate of 44% - I'd love to be a fly on Darryl Sutter's wall.

There's a good battle brewing in Alberta. For news and posts on the Oilers and the Flames, make sure you pass by the aptly-titled blog "The Battle of Alberta".
