Hockey Day in Canada


Two days after winning the 2006 World Junior Hockey Championships, Canada continues its celebration of Canadian hockey with CBC's annual Hockey Day In Canada broadcast:
Celebrate Canada's game with coverage of Hockey Day In Canada in Stephenville, Newfoundland, the official host location. Ron MacLean will go rinkside at the Stephenville Dome to tell the story of this intriguing community and take viewers on a thrilling 13.5 hour-long hockey journey across Canada. Don Cherry will join MacLean for all of the festivities.
The broadcast schedule is as follows:

5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT Hockey Day in Canada: Live from Stephenville, NL
6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT Saturday Night
7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT Toronto @ Edmonton
10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT Calgary @ Vancouver

Locally, Hockey Day In Canada will be on-site in Burnaby:
Scott Oake and Kelly Hrudey will be on-site at Bill Copeland Arena looking in on the Vancouver Canucks game day skate and a BC Coaches Clinic. Later in the evening, updates from a Junior A British Columbia Hockey League match-up between the Surrey Eagles and Burnaby Express will be featured.
And of course, in the evening, the Vancouver Canucks face-off against the Calgary Flames at GM Place in yet another key divisional game. This game is the third game of the CBC triple header featuring all six Canadian teams.
