New Logo Old Logo?
This tidbit in today's Vancouver Sun caught my eye:
After Francesco Acquilini bought out John McCaw, there had been numeorus speculation about the future of the whale jersey. The Canucks were scheduled to wear their vintage stick jerseys for 25 of 41 home games this season; do they wear it full-time next season? Or will they unveil a completely new jersey with a new logo on August 1st?
Stay tuned.

You can catch a glimpse of Johnny Canuck painted on the side of Roberto Luongo's mask on nights when the local team wears its vintage blue, green and white uniforms. And the question begs: "Is the artwork on Luongo's mask a hint of things to come?"Interesting, huh?
The modern day Canucks' marketing machine has instructed its large army of merchandising retailers to stand by for an announcement on Aug. 1.
"Right now we're ordering next year's inventory blindly," says the owner of a sporting goods outlet in North Vancouver. "All we've been told is that the colours of the uniforms will be blue, green and white, but we don't know what the crest is going to look like. The current killer whale [or orca] jersey, as we understand it, will be kept in reserve and occasionally be used as a 'classic' uniform."

Gross. How many more times are we going to have to put up with this crap? God forbid this franchise should have any kind of (recognizable) identity.
The thought of Trevor Linden playing in a vintage Skate jersey (circa 1994) gives me goosebumps. I would most certainly spend an exorbitant amount of money to get my hands on one too.
Why haven't the marketing geniuses at Orca Bay picked up on this? Is it simply too soon? Does there have to be a twenty year period in order for an old jersey to be offered as vintage?
with my luck they'll go to a different jersey altogehter and I"ll ahve to get another jersey signd :D s
stay with the vintage it works !!!
and it would save me a a lot of money
I really doubt they are planning on changing the logo altogether. Maybe some minor changes to match RBK's jersey design.
The skate jersey would be cool, but personally, I'm not a big fan of bringing it back. I'd much more prefer the rink and stick.
The RBK version of Stick in Rink is a nice piece of work.
Should be the skate on the front...best logo ever..."c"on one shoulder and the Stick on the other..period...tradition preserved...PlEASE!!!!!
I'm actions reach the same shit as always, support hoopsjunky perhaps some minor design changes to match the RBK jersey. would be perfect.
