Mad Mike Milbury At It Again

Yawn. News out of New York is that Islanders GM Mike Milbury has fired another coach:
The New York Islanders fired coach Steve Stirling on Wednesday night, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the official announcement wasn't scheduled until Thursday.

An interim coach will be in place before the Islanders' home game against Calgary on Thursday night, and it won't be general manager Mike Milbury, the person told the AP. The rest of the coaching staff is expected to remain and Stirling will likely be offered another position within the organization.
Milbury has had more coaches than Pamela Anderson has had rock stars. Stirling is the eighth Islanders coach hired - and fired - by Milbury in his ten years as GM. As if Stirling was the one who signed Alexei Yashin to a ten-year contract worth $90 million (and gave up Jason Spezza and Zdeno Chara in the process) and Brent Sopel to a two-year/$4.8 million one with a lifetime supply of Joico hair products.
