It's Not The Mighty Ducks

The good folks from Vancouver Canucks Op Ed would like to pass some Roger Ebert-like info to any movie/hockey fans out there:
A new friend of ours, Winnipeg filmmaker Walter Forsberg, has a dilemma. He and his partners produced a great hockey film about the demise of the Winnipeg Jets which has drawn grandiose reviews in Winnipeg, Whitehorse, Saskatoon and Toronto. Yet no Vancouver theatres have agreed to show the movie. They seem to think we won’t “get it”. What’s up with that?

Are we not Hollywood North? Are we not (semi-) cultured, educated, interested in our country? Are we not HOCKEY FANS, for god’s sake???

Let’s prove to central Canada that we’re not all idiotic movie goers who can only stomach bad, locally-filmed D-List American action movies. That maybe, just once in a while, we’d like something Canadian. Specifically, something about HOCKEY.

Below is a “Plea to Vancouver”. Please pass this information (or the link to this page) onto your friends, your blogs, and your message boards. No matter where you live, take a moment to support Canucks’ and Jets’ fans. Maybe you can’t see this film, but many others would love to. Let’s help these poor beleaguered Winnipeg Jets fans
I haven't seen the movie myself, but it's Canadian, it's about hockey and it doesn't star Emilio Estevez and Joshua Jackson. Those alone make this worth passing. More details about the movie can be found on VCOE.
