An Open Invite

Jeff and Alannah from Vancouver Canucks Op Ed sent out this invite to their readers last week, and I would like to extend the same to you too. We know there will be a few bloggers and readers from and in and out of town for the draft so we thought, why not get together, consume some beers and cheer as Dave Nonis picks the next Jason Herter or the next Luc Bourdon. (Hopefully more of the latter.)

Now, as some of you locals already know, the Saturday night scene in Vancouver is crazy and it's nearly impossible to get a reservation or guest list going at most establishments. That said, my softball team happens to have some extra guest list spaces at the Gecko Club that night. The Gecko Club is a new hot spot only a few blocks away from GM Place. They have 11 big screen TV's, cheap beer, food and a dance floor for late-night shenanigans.

If you would like to come by, say hi, and join us for a brew or two or three or four, send me an email at gocanucksgo10 (at) hotmail (dot) com or to the VCOE folks at vancouvercanucksoped (at) gmail (dot) com. This will give us a better idea on numbers and I'll see if we can possibly get some special draft night deal.

On a related note, hopefully Dave Nonis will be able to pull some sort of a draft night deal himself to move up from the 14th spot. That Jordan Staal kid looks like a mighty intriguing propect.
