No More Scoreless Ties

For you trivia buffs, here's another first for the new NHL - the Calgary Flames and Philadelphia Flyers played to a scoreless tie tonight before Mike Richards scored a goal in the shootout to give the Flyers the win. It was the NHL's first scoreless game decided by shootout.

Answer this: Philly gets credited with the win and the two points; Calgary is credited with a shootout loss rather than a loss; Niittymaki gets the win and the shutout; Mike Richards is credited with a game-winning goal, but the goal doesn't count towards his season totals. If Richards' goal doesn't count towards his season totals, should Kiprusoff, who doesn't get tagged with the loss, also get credited with a shutout?
