Game Day: Panthers at Canucks

As much as I wanted to, I couldn't recap Friday night's win against the Oilers - the Canucks' sixth consecutive victory - due to multiple committments. Still, I think it's worth noting that the team's work ethic is beginning to pay off. Say what you will about some of the forwards' Patrik Stefan-like finish, but as is usually the case, hard work wins out.

Okay, and it doesn't hurt to have Roberto Luongo in goal.

Tonight, the Canucks try for a seventh straigh win and entertain the Todd Bertuzzi-less Florida Panthers. It was supposed to be one of the biggest games of the season, featuring the emotional return of one of Vancouver's favorite players. However, Todd, of course, has been sidelined since October after undergoing major back surgery.

In fact, of the former Canucks on the Panthers, only Bryan Allen is expected to play after Jacques Martin announced that Ed Belfour will get the start over Alex Auld. For the home team, Alain Vigneault will ride Roberto Luongo and his six-game win streak.

Puck drops at 7 PM. TV broadcast will once again be on Canucks TV pay-per-view.
