Let The Second-Guessing Begin

Someone explain this to me - how does Yanic Perrault get selected to the NHL All-Star game over both Sedins? How does Martin Havlat, whom while I agree is a helluva player, has only appeared in 21 games this season?

When Wayne Gretzky lashed out on the Vote For Rory campaign and advised the NHL to ensure that everyone who deserved to go to the All-Star game goes, I had no idea he was talking about Perrault.

:\ I think they were going more for getting a representative from each team, although it isn't required...

But yeah, I was really expecting the Sedins to be in the lineup ..... :(

Nice vid!

pikachu - I'm sure that's what they were going for. My beef with that is that this argument flies against what was said during the Rory campaign that all the best players be able to go. If they make sure that each team is represented, some better players from other teams are left off.

:x Well, this is THE NHL. If they didn't choose a rep from each team, the GMs/Owners from those teams would go batshit on their bum. They say they want to please the fans first, but really :P It's all about the owners.

I like your theory about Rory maybe going to the league...with crooked nose and cigar in mouth...'Hey...don le dis happen. Make sombudy else win! Kah-peesh?'

I think the final vote totals show the initial point of the Rory campaign...what a joke it is to have fans voting online for the team in the first place. Do away with the game and just take a Christmas break...let players rest and recoup prior to finishing off the 2nd half of the season. The NHL already has a great all-star event in the World Cup and Olympics...leave it at that.
