Panthers 3 Canucks 4 (SO)
How good does it feel to win seven games in a row?
This good:
The Canucks didn't bring their A-game - they had all sorts of problems getting out of their zone last night - but like their three previous wins, found a way to pull it off.
Markus Naslund scored for the first time in 18 games and seemed to get going afterwards; Alex Burrows, Jeff Cowan and Josh Green put together some good shifts before Josh played hero in the shootout. For once, the skaters helped bail out Roberto Luongo, who let in a couple of softies in the third period, and gave him a chance to shine - again - in the shootout.
More from the Mainstream
A well-deserved three-day break then against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night.

More from the Mainstream
- Playing against the Panthers for the first time this season, everyone was talking about
Mike Keenan's draft day giftRoberto Luongo. - More post-game pieces from Elliott Pap (Vancouver Sun), Ben Kuzma (Vancouver Province), Grant Kerr (Globe and Mail) and George Richards (Miami Herald).
- All eyes in Shippagan, NB were on native son, Luc Bourdon, during the recently-concluded World Junior Hockey Championships. And he didn't disappoint.
My 3 Stars of the Game
- Markus Naslund (VAN): Was almost vintage Markus especially after he scored his goal.
- Jay Bouwmeester (FLA): Understated game for the Panthers defenseman. Size and solid play caused problems for the Canucks forwards.
- Daniel Sedin (VAN): Shows only one assist on the scoresheet but was dangerous on the offensive end in the third period.
Official Statistics
Next GameA well-deserved three-day break then against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night.
